I have to tell you this is an AWESOME Idea!!!! Seriously!!!! I am going to try to be out there to watch you at the finish line...SO excited to see all your Sunday Best!!! Good Luck!!!
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an amazing idea! Just found your site - I live in London and me and my friends dress very 40s - but not in a pin-up way, in a tweed, leather brogues type of way... nice to see someone else living the dream of old fashioned good quality charm and decency old boy. What ho!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! But a bit of a long route for people in their sunday best!
ReplyDeleteI'm sure back in the day people only rode in pretty little circles in public parks.
I'm assuming that it will be a leisurely ride. Right?
ReplyDeleteIt's a very leisurely ride so the distance is not a huge concern. The distance will also help to spread out a large number of cyclists on the road for less disruption. Riders have more than an hour to cover the route and arrive in time for the after ride social!
ReplyDeleteWe are not planning a critical mass style event. There will also be a few rest stops along the way.
C'mon people. Six and two-thirds miles on a lovely vintage bicycle in our pretty much flat Nation's Capital is hardly a long ride... even in your Sunday best. No doubt the fine folks at Plymouth Gin hosting the libations at Marvin will help quell the post-ride thirst though. See you all tomorrow!
